COVID-19 Response

The following measures are now in place at SparkCC in response to laws and guidelines related to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Note: This information is correct as of 2020-05-26.


  • Australian Federal guidelines exist but defer to States for specific rules.
  • NSW State rules:
    • Limit public gatherings to 10 people
    • Allow businesses to "make decisions about what makes the most sense for their situation'.


  • SparkCC is closed to non-members until further notice.
  • SparkCC will not be guaranteed open to members at regular times until further notice.
  • Members are generally discouraged from visiting the space. You should only visit if you absolutely need to use the equipment at the space for a specific task.
  • Gatekeepers will open the space occasionally if they are available and feel comfortable doing so. Whenever a Gatekeeper is opening the space:
    • They will start a thread in the #general channel in Slack.
    • When they open the space only 10 members should be present at any one time. Members are expected to manage this amongst themselves when visiting.
  • Make use of Slack to continue learning from your fellow members, sharing your ongoing projects and socialising while we're less able to meet in person.

Social Distancing

If you do attend SparkCC you must follow Social Distancing guidelines.

  • Do not attend SparkCC if you are experiencing any
  • Remain at least 1.5m from others at all times.
  • Follow any signage and the guidance of the Gatekeeper on duty in regards to hygenie practices.
  • Hand sanitiser is available and complimentary. Please use it and post a message in #general if you notice it is running low.
  • Wearing disposable latex gloves is recommended. SparkCC does not have stock of these to supply so you will need to bring your own.
  • If you develop COVID-19 symptoms inform the Committee as soon as possible.
