- After membership has been held for a period of 1 month, a SparkCC member may request to gain ad-hoc access to the space.
- When ad-hoc access is granted to a member they will be invited to
#access
in the SparkCC Slack where details for opening and closing the space are maintained.
- After a 1 month probtion SparkCC members can access the space 09:00 - 22:00, 7 days per week.
- Members must not facilitate access to the space to non-members except as outlined in Guests.
- Members may invite immediate family members to the space as their guests.
- Members assume all responsibility for their guests and must:
- Supervise guests at all times.
- Ensure guests follow all SparkCC policies.
- Guests must not directly operate the CNC Router or Drill Press under any circumstances.
- Any guest who visits the space regularly is expected to contribute to the upkeep of the community by becoming a SparkCC member.
- The CARES facility is on a natural reserve and so no domesticated animals are permitted onsite.
- Registered assistance animals belonging to members are an exception and are permitted on-site, under the strict supervision of their owning member.
- Roller doors may be opened for access and ventilation.
- Roller door padlocks are unlocked using the key hanging by the SparkCC door. Return this key immediately after use.
- Be sure to close roller doors and replace + lock padlocks when leaving the space.
- All areas of SparkCC are under 24 hour surveillance.
- SparkCC members have full use of the communal kitchen.
- Be sure to leave the kitchen clean after use
- Communal toilets are available in the main hallway near the front door.
- Access to the space is subject to special conditions on days where a Total Fire Ban (TOBAN) is declared.
- Conditions are based on the Fire Danger Rating in place on the day of the TOBAN:
- Moderate to Extreme:
- Use of Laser cutters and workshop tools or any ‘hot works’ would need to be done inside with doors closed on days that are TOBAN.
- Regular care and maintenance must be carried out on all machines that have the possibility to cause a spark.
- A fire extinguisher must be in close proximity to these work areas.
- Catastrophic:
- The facility must be vacated.
